What's new and exciting with. . .
. . . Andrew
Andrew earns his half yellow belt in karate and is preparing to earn his yellow belt.
Andrew started Kindergarten on August 19, 2002.
Andrew went to school wearing glasses. We were shopping at Sam's on a Saturday when they were doing a "free" health screening event. We had Andrew's eyes screened out of curiousity. This showed he was having some difficulties so we immediately saw the optometrist. His vision is only affected in one eye due to astignatisms, but the optometrist felt that with his speech difficulties glasses were in his best interest. He broke them (bent them out of shape) twice the first week of school, and lost one pair the third week of school.
Andrew came down with pneumonia in October. He took it like a real champ, but was sad because he had to miss a week of school and karate. Fortunately, he was not put in the hospital and the home treatment helped him return to health. As of October 31, his x-rays were again normal.
Andrew started speech therapy at school the end of October.
. . . Kyle
Kyle has been expressing his artistic ability on a canvas that will get him into trouble every time -- the walls.
Kyle has really started to communicate orally outside of grunts and whines -- you can actually carry on a short conversation with him now.
. . . Stacey
Stacey has been diligently working on several web sites (mostly for family). She has worked on getting up a quick resume and online portfolio to see if some projects will fall into her lap. She was asked to develop another site for the church family history center's seminar this coming spring.
Stacey fell on the stairs and cracked her tailbone on October 29th. It is very sore, but seems to be improving a little every day.
Stacey received an invitation to attend a Child Passenger Safety training course starting on November 12th (4 days). However, due to her tailbone incident she regretfully had to decline the invitation. The course organizers are keeping her name in hand for possible class in either February or March of 2003. She is excited about the possibility of finally getting in a course to become a certified/trained CPS Technician.
Stacey has diligently been working on her variety of crafts. These are for the Well Decorated House web site (craft sales) and for personal delight. She was invited to be a vendor at the upcoming Klein Methodist Eggstravaganza (at the Klein Methodist Church) in the spring. The vendor coordinator was truly delighted with the crocheted angels Stacey had been working on.
. . . Ben
Ben is working toward graduating from Texas A&M University. In the process of doing this, part of his class assignments involve building a droid, much to Ben's delight. The project is tiresome and teadious, but graduation will be the best reward.
